Susan's Room - Album Artwork.jpeg

Estuary is an intimate musical exchange between vocalist Judette Elliston [they/she] (NYC/Canada) and pianist PJ Fossum [he/him] (Brussels/Canada) that

explores musical reciprocity in the vocalist-pianist relationship. Collaborating since 2017, they’ve developed malleable songs that embrace dynamic freedom and

creative improvisation. Their duo has performed across Canada, U.S. and Denmark and released their debut EP Confluences in 2024. Estuary’s sophomore EP Susan’s Room (Tidebloom Records) documents a fleeting yet deeply connected collaboration that emerged during a 2024 tour across Québec. In this recording, they expand their sound with Québecois bassist Sébastien Bachand, forming a trio that blends folk sensibilities, jazz improvisation, and fluid songwriting in an intimate living-room recording. The three musicians, all originally from across Canada (Ottawa, Québec, and Calgary), first met at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in 2018 and now live between Brooklyn, Québec, and Belgium, shaping a distinctly transnational collaboration. Listen to: Susan's Room
